Description: Enjoy the day on Lake Pawtuckaway ! Paddle approximately four hours, stopping halfway at “Lunch Island” for a relaxing lunch break. As usual, PFD’S (personal flotation devices) are required while on the water. Registered attendees can attend a late lunch in the area after the paddle adventure wraps up.

When: Wednesday, July 25, 2018, 6:30PM – 9:00PM
Description: This night hike up Blue Job in Strafford, NH is the ideal midweek adventure and opportunity to connect with AMC members. Expect incredible views at the summit and a nearby sub peak. The complete hike roughly totals 1.3 miles with 400 feet of elevation gain.

When: Monday, July 30, 2018, 9:00AM – 12:30PM
Description: Ride approximately 20 miles and visit five covered bridges in the Swanzey and Winchester area during the Swanzey Covered Bridge Ride. Depending on interest, there is an optional 10 additional mile ride that visits one more covered bridge. This will be an easy pace ride of 10-12 mph with a total elevation gain of about 600 feet. An ice cream stop will be made on the way back.

When: Friday, August 10, 2018 – Sunday, August 12, 2018
Description: This year’s camping weekend will be held at Barnes Field, next to Dolly Copp Campground. Numerous hiking trails are nearby if you decide to explore the area on your own. There will be a potluck dinner on Saturday night and AMC will offer hamburgers, veggie burgers, and hot dogs. Bring your favorite dish to share with your fellow hikers.

When: August 18, 2018
Description: Join us for this great hike along the Carter Range and two of NH’s 4000 footers. Observe the landscape of the White Mountains from the peak of Mount Hight. This will be a strenuous hike with 12.5 miles of hiking and about 4300 feet of elevation gain. Experienced hikers are highly encouraged to register.

Description: Don’t miss the chance to hike two peaks on the New England Hundred Highest list, Mt. Weeks (3901′) and South Weeks (3885′). Hikers will follow York Pond Trail and the Kilkenny Ridge Trail over Weeks to South Weeks to reach the peaks. Relevant and recent hiking experience recommended for this medium pace hike with a round trip total of 11.8 miles.

Description: Register for day of hiking and yoga in the Belknap Range! Ascend Mt. Major via the Boulder Loop Trail and spend some time on the summit of Mt. Major enjoying the views. The next destination is a side trip to Mt. Major’s lesser known neighbor, Mt. Straightback, which is off the beaten path. Hikers will descend down Brook Trail, a relatively gentle descent option. The yoga lesson will be taught on the mountain by Missi D’arcy, the owner of Symmetry Yoga in Lee, NH. Total hike distance is about 5.5 miles with 1400 feet of elevation gain.

When: Sunday, September 9, 2018
Description: Families gather for the NH Chapter Family Group’s last summer outing. The climb will be up Mt. Kearsarge from the Winslow State Park side. This is 2.8 mile loop hike to the summit with 1100 feet of elevation gain. The hike is rated as moderate to difficult, but will move at a child-friendly pace with lots of stopping for snacks, water, rest and wildlife viewing. A pot luck BBQ will be held at Winslow State Park following the hike.
When: Sunday, September 23, 2018
Description: Explore an area away from a a major peak that has a legend or history that surrounds it. In addition to hiking the area, a historian will join the hike to tell stories and legends of the surrounding area. This hike will head to Nancy and Norcross Ponds in Crawford Notch. Nancy Pond is named for Nancy Barton who passed away in the area while attempting to track down her employer and fiancee, who were having a secret meeting in the woods. The hike is 8.5 miles over fairly steep and rough terrain. The route is mostly along a brook, featuring cascades and ponds. Participants should have experience with similar distance hikes in the White Mountains.
