Surprisingly, the four owners are all technology and engineering professionals. How does that background translate into making beer? The group’s entire brewing philosophy revolves around trial and error and experimentation – values they learned in their respective careers.
Because of the brewery’s small scale, they’re afforded an unusual degree of freedom to experiment compared to bigger brewers. The end result? Consistently tasty and one-of-a-kind beers that are earning Spyglass Brewing a solid following and tons of well-earned hype. (Just take a look at their glowing reviews and packed tasting room.)
My favorite pour was the CPDX-100, a strawberry DIPA. I also loved the Quid Pro Quococonut, a chocolate coconut imperial stout.

As for food, Spyglass Brewing’s small scale and focus on great beers means that their menu is somewhat sparse. They do have small bites and bags of chips for sale, but they also encourage patrons to bring their own food or order a meal for delivery.
We ended up grabbing our favorite sandwich from a nearby sub shop and bringing it with us. It made for a much more relaxing experience than having to order an entree or needing a server for our table.

Stop by the Nashua tasting room for pours, half pours, flights, and growler fills. It can sometimes be packed or you might have to share a table, but getting your hands on some of Spyglass Brewing’s stellar beer is totally worth the wait.
